At Home with Lucie Rie

This summer I had the pleasure of seeing a show of Lucie Rie's pottery at Kettles Yard Gallery in Cambridge, England. In the catalog, there was a photo of Lucie Rie at home. Her white decor and clothing are striking. The exhibition catalog said Rie ( 1902-1995) loved to stay at home where she had her studio and have friends come and visit her rather than going out. You can see why from this picture which shows her serene home decor. Note the beautiful vase which is surely one of her own creations.
